Kendall County Comets, a Special Olympics Team, is a not-for-profit organization. It is through our volunteers
and community support that we are able to meet our operating budget and continue to offer a sporting AND social program for
our athletes, a networking circle of friends for our families, and the exposure to competative sporting activites and events
to Kendall County's Special Needs Population.
It is our mission to offer not only sporting, but also social programming for the special needs residents of Kendall
County through a program consisting of activities focusing on physical activity, fitness and competative sports, as
well as social activites that allow friendships to be formed and fostered within a safe environment in which our athletes
and families can come together for fun, laughter and in-kind support. Further, KCSO Comets feels strongly that no athlete,
or family, wishing to participate in Special Olympics should ever be denied that opportunity due to financial strains, and
we are fortunate enough to have the ability to offer scholarships on a case by case evaluation.
It is with these two primary focuses that our executive board members, coaches and staff put in countless hours,
each year, to ensure that we continue in meeting our goal of offering quality programming, support and activities for our
athletes and families. Over 95% of our staff are committed and dedicated volunteers.
As with any organization, this programming takes financial backing. If you, or an affiliated organization, would
like to donate, we would welcome your kind gift! No amount is too small or insignifcant, and all funds are used to directly
benefit our athletes.
